About Linda L. Kordes
Linda L. Kordes’ practice focuses on elder law and trusts and estates. For thirty years, she has devoted herself to those areas of the law.
Ms. Kordes was graduated summa cum laude from New York University and from New York Law School. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1985. She is an active member of both the New York State Bar Association Elder Law and Trust and Estate Sections, and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. At the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, Legal Referral Service, she sits on the Joint Committee, the executive committee responsible for the review of client grievances and other important Legal Referral Service matters. In addition, she is active as a Legal Referral Service trusts and estates panel member, having handled hundreds of trust and estate and elder law referrals through the Bar.
From 2005, Ms. Kordes practiced as a solo practitioner in New York City until 2014 when she joined with Clara G. Schwabe to form Kordes & Schwabe, PLLC. Prior to 2005, she was an associate for eleven years at the offices of Pearlman, Apat and Futterman, where she practiced in the areas of real estate litigation, trusts and estates and elder law. In the 1980’s, she was a law assistant to the Hon. Marie M. Lambert, Surrogate of New York County.
As she has for many years, Ms. Kordes concentrates her practice in the areas of trusts and estates and elder law, exclusively. She has had extensive experience in estate and tax planning and administration, Medicaid and disability planning, and guardianship, having handled many contested matters. She is experienced in drafting sophisticated wills and inter-vivos and testamentary trusts with an emphasis on tax and disability planning. She also has significant experience in the area of charitable planning and related document drafting. Ms. Kordes has extensive experience in all areas of Surrogate’s Court practice, including but not limited to, probate, administration, accounting, miscellaneous matters and guardianship.
